Quick answer: Pick a step challenge name that fits the group and is easy to say in the chat. Sole Mates and Walkie Talkies suit friends, Clan on the Move and Family Stroll Patrol suit family, and Tortoises vs Hares works when you split into two teams. Paste the name at the top of your invite.
How to pick a name in five minutes
A name gives the group chat something to rally around, and it makes the Sunday result feel like an event. Keep it to two or three words so it fits in a chat title. Inside jokes beat clever puns. Skip anything that pokes fun at someone’s pace, size or age. The person who walks least should be happy to say the name out loud.
Can’t agree? Let the winner of each round rename the challenge for the next one. The name then becomes part of the prize.

Where MovePeeps fits
The MovePeeps app is planned for 1 December 2026 on iPhone and Android, free at launch. Each private group of two to eight people will have its own leaderboard, with rounds from Monday to Sunday. From launch you can set the group name in the app, so the name you pick now can come with you. Until then, it lives in your chat title and your invite.
Plan your first round
Planned for 1 December, iPhone and Android, free at launch. The MovePeeps app will run private step challenges for two to eight people. Rounds run Monday to Sunday, for one week or a few in a row, and the group picks the scoring: most steps, most consistent days, or best balance with a daily cap. Steps come from Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android, so a phone is enough, and a watch counts if it saves its steps there.
Want to start sooner? Use the challenge generator to copy a plan into your group chat, or join the waitlist for the launch email and a beta invite if there’s a spot. We don’t send newsletters.
If a step total looks delayed or an invite does not work, visit MovePeeps support. See the privacy policy for what the app reads and shares.
